Happy Smile - A great achievement that make my day

This happy smile photo is brought to you by my friend Chris, a captain of commercial airplane. I have known him for many years. He was my project manager in the IT industry. He decided to become a commercial pilot as his dream. He did it. You can find more about Chris at his Yet Another Tech Blog.
I call it a great achievement, which shows a great example of chasing the dream.
Here is what Chris has to say about the happy smile photo.
This picture is a little old. I am now a Captain so I sit in the left seat instead of the right. Sometimes it is just too sunny in the cockpit.Especially when we have to get up at 4:30am so we can fly people around at5:45am. Hey folks that is just too early! I need my beauty sleep. While wenever read in the cockpit a newspaper sure does block the sunlight out.Flying is a great job and I enjoy talking with my passengers and invitingkids up for tours of the cockpit. While flying is now so common place, people act like they are riding a bus, I like to try to bring back the goodold days when the pilots were happy and interact with our customers. It’slots of fun to have kids come up on the ground and sit in one of the pilotseats. Hopefully this picture will make your day. Probably not. It remindsme to have fun in the cockpit. And for those concerned about safety, “hey hecan’t see out the window”, we were at cruise flight where we always haveseparation from other aircraft. We also have a device called TCAS whichallows us to see what planes, if any, are near us. So lighten up!
Chris is also a talented web developer. He has some great idea about making pilot’s life easier. Take a look at the great idea of FitnessForPilots.Com. It’s wonderful to see his happy smile on this happiest blog in the world.
By the way, I don’t think pilot read news paper while flying. ![]()
